David C. Hut, 85, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side. He was born April 19, 1930 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Edward and Millie (Jackson) Hut. David grew up in Marion, Ohio, he went on to earn his degree in Electrical Engineering from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. e enlisted and served in the United States Air Force, during the Korean conflict.
Following his discharge from the military, David accepted a position as an electrical engineer with the United States Naval Research Laboratories in Washington, D.C.
Upon his retirement, David moved to Smith Mountain Lake in Moneta, Virginia where he spent the next eleven years enjoying boating, and swimming along with his golden retriever, Cassie. He also enjoyed meeting and traveling with new friends from all over United States. From there, David relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where he spent the next five years. He was an amateur herpetologist and enjoyed working as a volunteer docent at the Arizona Desert Museum, however the dry heat didn't agree with him so he decided to seek out new adventures.
Even though his heart was in Virginia, David became comfortable with the hotter climate and decided to move to Florida for the remainder of his life. He enjoyed many years here before his health failed. David took with him many good memories of his travels and accomplishments. David was a true outdoorsman, especially in his younger years when he loved hunting.
David is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Moire Hut of Ormond Beach, his niece, Ellen and his nephew, Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his two sisters, Joanie and Rita.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Catholic Church; 89 St. Mary's Place Bunnell, Florida.
