David L. Garrett, age 84, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 23, 2022
David was born in Mansfield, Illinois. Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the Navy in 1956 and served until 1962. While in the Navy, he married Nancy Jo Hubbard and together welcomed their daughters Cristal and Connie.
Following his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1962, he relocated his family to Miami, FL. and became a Firefighter for the City of Miami-Dade. He retired after 29 years. He later became the owner of New Life Nursery in Homestead, FL.
David was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp and fish. He also loved to travel by taking extended road trips to national parks, places of interest and cruises with his family. He enjoyed square dancing and spending time with his children and their extended families. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in December 2019.
He is survived by his children, Cristal LeGault (George), Connie Upton (Chuck), stepsons Merl Littlewood, Curt Littlewood, stepdaughters Diane Thomas, Dolores Porter, Lynn Dike (Lloyd), Teresa Robinson, Eddyce Sullivan (Bill), Shelly Littlewood, Shari Carey, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. David touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, wisdom and faith.

Words of thanks seem so inadequate for all of the kindness our family has received. Thank you from the our hearts for the encouraging visits, comforting calls, lovely cards, beautiful flowers, food and mostly sincere words from the scriptures. We are finding comfort knowing Jehovah God will soon fulfill all his promises for everlasting life.
