"Dave" David Allen Schaaf, 67, of Port Orange, Florida and formerly of Baltimore, Maryland passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2023.  He was born on December 16, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland.  There he became a first responder and served 24 years with Engine 33 in Baltimore, Maryland.  He was a member of the Baltimore City Firefighter's Association Union 734, and American Legion Post 130 in Overly-Perryhall, Maryland.  He also served as former State Commander 2006 and 2007 for the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Bridget M. Schaaf; son, Sean Cavey (fiance, Mikayla Sagstetter); father in law, Joseph R. Cheseldine; brother in law, Joseph Cheseldine, III. (spouse, Susan Cheseldine); sister-in-law, Katie Cheseldine-Turner (partner, Darren Schaffer); nephew, Robert J. Hartman (spouse, Charlie Adkins); niece, Kathleen Cheseldine; nephew, William Turner.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Sophie Schaaf; brother, William Schaaf; aunt and uncle, Evelyn and Vernon Schaaf; and mother in law Marianne Cheseldine.

Services will be held privately at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Dave's name to the American Legion Post 130 in Overly-Perryhall, Maryland.
