Darryl L. Peterson, 71, of Port Orange, left to be with our Lord on September 9, 2015 after a long illness. Darryl was born in Titusville, Pennsylvania to Robert Elmer Peterson and Thelma Williams Peterson. He was an electrical engineer for 43 years, employed by Reliance Electric / Rockwell Automation of Cleveland Ohio.

Retiring to Florida after a successful career, he was a member of 4-H, his main hobby involved hand radio, and working as a volunteer with the Daytona Beach Police Emergency Center. Darryl also loved to pilot and fly airplanes, and to travel. He was an active member of the Port Orange Presbyterian Church and thoroughly enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Mary Redman Peterson; two daughters, Kimberlee (Edwin) Maynard of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and Heather (Chris) Seifert of Ohio; his bonus daughter Jami L. (Rogier) Baars; one brother, Ken (Fay) Peterson; five grandchildren and two bonus grandchildren; and his dog, JP.

A celebration of Darryl's life will be held Sunday September 13, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Port Orange Presbyterian Church, 4662 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. A reception will follow.
