Daniel J. Rodgers 83 of Bunnell passed away on May 28 2009. A visitation will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday June 2 2009 from 1-3PM followed by the funeral service at 3PM. Born to A.C. and Pauline Rodgers in Bunnell on April 4 1926 he went on to join the Army after graduating high school and continued to work for the Department of Defense for a career as a civilian employee after receiving his Honorable Discharge. During his service with the Department of Defense he was stationed in Tokyo Japan from 1946 to 1958 Pusan South Korea from 1958 to 1967 Pine Bluff Arkansas from 1967 to 1969 and Taegu South Korea from 1967 to 1974. He retired at the rank of GS-13 as Director of Supply and Services out of Pine Bluff and in 1988 he and his wife of 47 years Dae retired back to his home town of Bunnell. He was an avid bird hunter skeet shooter fisherman gardener and woodcraftsman. Aside from his loving wife he is also survived by sons Andrew of Sylva N.C. and James (Doretta) of Pine Bluff daughter Nancy Rodgers of Bunnell sisters Sara and Beverly Rodgers of Deland and June Smith of Cocoa brother John of Bunnell and one step grandson.
