Daniel Joseph Murkett 33 passed away February 19 2011 in Kailua HI. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on June 17th 2011 at 8:30 am at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd. Port Orange FL 32129. He was born April 17 1977 in Norwich CT to Kenneth and Carol Murkett. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick Cathedral Church. He graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1995. As a child he excelled in skateboarding and won many awards. He followed his dream for many years living in Steamboat Springs and Crested Butte CO where he enjoyed snowboarding fishing camping and attending live music performances. He primarily worked as a commercial residential painter establishing himself as a skilled interior finisher. In 2009 he moved to Kailua HI where he took up surfing. Dan was blessed to be able to live in two beautiful locations that are vacation destinations for most people. He was a kind loving man who had many friends and left a positive impression on all who knew him.
Along with his parents who reside in Port Orange FL Dan is survived by brothers Timothy (wife Cindy) of Costa Mesa CA and Jeffrey of Madison WI many aunts uncles and cousins as well as numerous friends in CT CO and HI.
