Mass of Christian Burial for Daniel Carrara age 86 will be Friday Jan. 14th at 1pm in the chapel of Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Fr. Tim Daly officiating. Family will receive friends from Noon until 1pm preceding the service also in the chapel. Committal service and interment with military honors will be Monday January 17 at 1pm at Holy Rood Cemetery Westbury LI NY. Mr. Carrara was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and graduated from Cornell University. He was a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Navy - Medical Service Corps. He served during WWII and Korea. He retired in 1961and went on to serve as Administrator of A. Holly Patterson Home for the Aged Uniondale LI NY and Astoria Hospital Queens NY. He volunteered in outreach activities at Holy Name of Mary Parish and Mercy Hospital Rockville Center. He served on the Board of Directors of Nassau County Medical Center. He retired to this area in 1997. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Margaret; niece Elaine Nelson-husband Bill Sister-in-law Ellen Shanaphy; Brother-in-law James Toner-wife Joan and by many loving nieces and nephews.
