Cynthia Marie Morris 50 a native of Joliet Illinois and long-time resident of East Volusia County died Monday November 17 2003 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born and raised in Joliet Illinois Ms. Morris came to this area in 1981. After working at Humana Hospital as a unit secretary and monitor tech for several years she graduated from DBCC as a registered nurse. Throughout her years in the medical profession at nursing homes hospitals and private offices she made countless friends amongst her coworkers peers and patients.

Cindy as we all know her had a heart of gold and loved to help others especially those in need and abandoned cats. She also enjoyed her horses shopping and riding on her Harley.

Ms. Morris was predeceased by her father and mother Fred and Mary Grossman and brother Raymond Grossman. She is survived by three sisters Ruth Grossman Judy Grossman and Lois Downs and husband Harold; her fianc Dr. Michael Diamond; nieces Susan and Melinda Downs; nephews Harold II William and Andrew Downs; her goddaughter Rebekka Alm; best friends William Compton and Tina Alm; and countless friends who will miss her so very much.

Service for Cynthia will be Wednesday November 19 at 11 a.m. Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ormond Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Ormond Funeral Home. Donations may be made in her honor to the Halifax Humane Society.
