Cindy Cocomazze

On Thursday, September 9th, 2021, our Lord Jesus Christ welcomed His most precious servant, His most beautiful angel and the anchor of our family, Cynthia Ann Cocomazze into His Kingdom. Cynthia, or Cindy as many who loved her called her, passed away at the young age of 64 after a courageous, month long battle with Covid, with her loving family by her side.

Cindy was born and raised in Utica, New York to her loving parents Al and Shirley Fontaine. Cindy attended local schools and was employed in the retail industry while in Utica. In 1980, she moved to Daytona Beach, Florida and began the next chapter of her wonderful life. Cindy worked as a valued manager of Service Merchandise for eight years. She was also employed by Falcon International Corporation for over 20 years. She was currently employed with what she considered the best job she ever had as office manager for ProCare Landscaping in NSB, Florida.

Cindy had a personality that was full of happiness, love, compassion and sincereness. A heart of gold, with a sparkling smile to match, she was a beacon of happiness for all who crossed paths with her. She took great pride in everything she did, striving to provide the upmost greatest life for her family as well as an always welcoming environment for her dear friends. She lived a life of strength and determination, never letting any obstacle stand in her path and always stood up for what was right, no matter if you were her best friend or a complete stranger. Cindy's kind heart and pure soul made her a constant repository for love and affection, of which she would spread to her family, friends and guests. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, as many of her loved ones knew, and she would never shy away from singlehandedly putting up her 8-foot tree, baking her black bottom cookies and working alongside her husband to put on one of the most inviting Christmas parties every year. There was nothing she couldn't accomplish, if anyone casted doubt upon her, they were almost always proven wrong, as Cindy had one of the strongest determinations to fix, find or complete and overcome anything that challenged her. While Cindy possessed a great deal of love for anyone that crossed her path, she especially loved her role as a mother and a grandmother, always going above and beyond to make sure her kids and grandkids could live the absolute best life and to learn to be just as kind and compassionate as she was. The impressions she left on everyone will be everlasting and will extend to generations beyond those she interacted with in the course of her beautiful life.

She leaves behind a heartbroken but extremely loving family, including her husband Mike, whom she was married to for 34 years and was his best friend for 48 glorious years. She also leaves behind a beautiful daughter, Shirell and her partner David Goulet and their two children, Ayden and Bryson. She also leaves behind a young son, Michael Robert, who she was very proud of. Also left behind is her stepson Mike Cocomazzi and his wife Cristina and their two children Matthew and Zachary as well as stepdaughter Tammy Mohns and her three sons, Kody, Cameron and Justin.

In addition, she is survived by three sisters and a brother; Charlene (Fontaine) Colburn, her sons Orlando Caquias, his son Marcell, his fiancé Mia and her children, Damian Caquias and his two daughters Jada and Neveah, Diane (Fontaine) Laria and her husband Tony and daughters Kristen and Courtney Laria, Deborah Fontaine, her daughter Santina (Rios) Ward, her husband Matt, her daughter Ariya and son Cameron, all of Utica, N.Y and Al Fontaine of Daytona Beach, FL, his daughter Lori (Fontaine) Ann and her children Shayla, Shevez, Jenna, Michael and Chad of South FL. She is further survived by her extended Fontaine family and by her extended Cocomazze family, whom she was loved and cared for very much by, and was a distinguished ambassador to.

Furthermore, Cindy was beloved and will be missed by many friends and acquaintances, including the Highway Patrol Auxiliary family who she was associated with for 26 years. She also shared a deep friendship with Donna and Joel Confer of PA and their entire family, with a special bond with Donna. Finally, she will be mourned by dozens of loving and caring friends from across the country, whom she has known throughout her life.

Her family extends their gratitude to all who have supported them during this trying time, with a special thanks to the men and women of AdventHealth Daytona Beach, their emergency room staff, ICU team and Nurse Amy.
