Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Cy (C.J.) Holley his daughter Madison and grandson Carter who died tragically in a boating accident on Monday May 31 2010 will be held Saturday June 5th at 10:00am at St. Peter Catholic Church 359 W. New York Ave. in Deland FL with Fr. Tom Connery officiating . The family will receive friends on Friday June 4th from 5-8pm at Lohman Funeral Home Deland 935 E. New York Ave. Deland FL. Cy was born in Baton Rouge LA and enjoyed his Cajun heritage. Cy and his family moved to the area 11 years ago but his heart was forever in Louisiana. An avid sports fan his love for the Louisiana State University Tigers and the New Orleans Saints was unmatched. He was unselfish fun-loving and a dedicated family man; always wanting to ensure everyone around him was having a good time. He loved to cook mostly for the pleasure it brought others and was known for his homegrown peppers and crawfish boils. As a devoted father he repeatedly shared that his children were his greatest accomplishment. His son Taylor is currently studying Petroleum Engineering at LSU and daughter Madison was studying Nursing at Daytona State College. Cy was also a devoted Christian; his strong faith in God gave him the peace of knowing everything was a part of God's plan. He was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Deland. Cy will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Paige and their son Taylor as well as his parents Brenda and Stephen Hicks of Ormond Beach FL. He is also survived by his older sister Louise Rumfello and husband Mark of Prairieville La; and two younger sisters Theresa Reinarts and husband Mike of Eagan MN and Billie Jensen and husband Bob of Marvin NC. He also leaves 4 nieces and 2 nephews: Kathy and Kelsey Rumfello Katie and William Reinarts and Logan and Davis Jensen. Cy proceeds in death his father-in-law Jimmy Hankins of Del Rio TN and his brother-in-law Neil Hankins of Memphis TN. Cy was proceeded in death by his father Cy Holley Sr and mother-in-law Elizabeth Hankins. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
