Cricket (Lonnie) Wilson, 62, New Smyrna Beach, passed away on September 23rd, 2015 surrounded and bound by the hearts of those who loved and adored her until the last breath that left her body. Cricket was a lifelong resident of the area, attending local schools; Holly Hill Elementary, Holly Hill Junior High and graduating from Mainland High School. Cricket also attended Daytona Community College where she obtained her Accounting Degree. She has been residing in New Smyrna Beach for the past 30 years.
For over 25 years Cricket worked at the law firm of Haas, Boehm, Brown, Rigdon, Seacrest,Fischer, Harwood, Kelly & Scheihing of Daytona Beach, as an Accountant and HR Representative. While there, she was a great example of a loyal employee and co-worker, and her work ethics were exemplary.
Cricket loved life in of itself, but particularly enjoyed being a homemaker. She loved to cook, bake, sew, crochet, craft, and garden. Entertaining was second nature to Cricket, and at her family home in New Smyrna is the place that family and friends gathered to celebrate all of life's events, and Thanksgiving was one of the most cherished Holidays of all, although Cricket didn't need a special occasion to celebrate the festivities that life offered. Her hospitality and generosity is just one of her finest traits. Cricket was loved by so many because of her caring and thoughtful ways for others, her zest for life and that unforgettable smile.
Cricket is survived by her husband of over 40 years, Dennis Dale Wilson; Mother Margaret McCormack Beavers, her son, David (Sharon) Wilson, daughter, Julia (Chip) Joy and her youngest son Cody Dale Wilson. She is also survived by her brothers, John (Tina) McCormack, and Will (Wanda) McCormack, her sisters, Marie (Tom) Squires, and Shirley (George) Koelker, by her sister-in-laws, Addie McCormack and Patricia McCormack, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren , as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins, and all of her nieces and nephews, Gary (Dolly) Wilson, Ray (Theresa) Wilson, Scott (Linda) Wilson and Laney Harris Wilson.
Cricket was predeceased by her Father, William James McCormack, her brothers William G. McCormack and James (Bo) McCormack as well as her grandson "Buddy".
The outpour of love was an inspiration to Cricket during her courageous battle with breast cancer and the family would like to extend their gratitude for the continuation of love and support during the past five years.
The family will receive friends at Lohman Funeral Home; 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach between the hour of 1:30 -2:30 pm on Wednesday, September 30th followed by her Celebration of Life beginning at 2:30 p.m.
