Constance "Connie" Rizopoulos 82 of Flagler Beach passed away April 7 2013. A Visitation in her honor will be held Wednesday April 10 2013 from 6-9pm with Prayer Service at 8pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Funeral Service will be held Thursday April 11 2013 at 11am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 129 N Halifax Ave Daytona Beach FL 32118.
Connie was born in Aliquippa PA to Theodore and Stella Kontelis. She met Constantine Rizopoulos as a child and knew one day he would be the love of her life. She graduated from Aliquippa High School and Robert Morris Business School. Within several years they were married. Connie and Dino enjoyed a happy and loving marriage for 61 years.
Connie worked for Pittsburgh Mercantile Company operating a Burroughs bookkeeping machine for a few years. She and Dino moved to NY and started their family. She was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker. Connie was a woman of strong faith full of compassion life and unconditional love for people and animals. She touched so many lives. Connie was artistic creative and talented. She enjoyed grooming poodles and other breeds and always loved singing to them. She was a self-taught pianist. She loved to dance and sing. Connie had a beautiful voice and sang in many church choirs beginning at the age of 10. She sang for Aliquippa Greek Orthodox Church in PA Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption in Port Jefferson NY and at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach FL. She also taught Sunday School at St. John Greek Orthodox Church in Patchoque New York.
Connie's passion in life was her family. Her loss will be sadly felt by her dear husband Constantine her son Michael Rizopoulos (and wife Shirley) her daughters Christina Rizopoulos Valauri (and husband Fredrick) and Theodora "Doreen" Rizopoulos. She will be missed by four beloved grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.
