Funeral Services for Connie Ginakes age 64 who passed away Sunday September 28th at Florida Hospital South in Orlando will be Thursday October 2nd at 11:00am at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with Fr. George P. Savas officiating.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday Oct. 1st from 5:30-8:00pm at Ormond Funeral Home. The Trisagion prayer service will be held at 7:30pm.

Connie was born to Thomas and Evelyn Pappas on July 14 1939 in Minneapolis Minnesota. She married Demos Ginakes on September 29 1963 forty years ago. They lived in Fargo North Dakota and Baltimore Maryland as well as Winter Park and Daytona Beach Florida.

Connie?s early career in both modeling and television led to her involvement as an instructor in modeling and finishing academies. She had a variety of interests and was active as a restaurateur and interior designer. Connie was also very active as a philanthropist. She was a founding board chairman of the Orlando Chapter of the Variety Club the oldest and largest international children''''s charity 1928 in the world. She spearheaded and organized many fundraisers and events to raise money for handicapped abused and disadvantaged children. Her passion and dedication resulted in the establishment of the ECMO unit at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children in Orlando Florida. She also enjoyed her work as a Hospice volunteer. Connie was a loving wife and mother. She and her family were especially close and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband Demos of Daytona Beach FL; her son Christopher of South Daytona FL; her two daughters Nicole and son-in-law Brad May of Ellicott City MD; Marissa and son-in-law Jocke Jonner of Ellicott City MD; her three grandchildren Alexander and Alia May and Sebastian Jonner; her mother Evelyn Pappas of Port Orange FL; her mother-in-law Mrs. Nick Ginakes of Minneapolis MN; her brother Nick Pappas and sister-in-law Lori of New Smyrna Beach FL; her brother-in-law John Ginakes and family of Jacksonville FL; and her sister-in-law Diane Dovolis and family of Minneapolis MN.
