Col. Ervan Edwin Kuhnke, Jr., 90 of Port Orange, Florida passed away peacefully at Halifax Health Hospice Care Center, Port Orange on Saturday, November 28, 2015.

He was born in Walworth City, Wisconsin on May 15, 1925 to Ervan and Selena (Channing) Kuhnke. He was a graduate from Whitewater High School and earned his Law degree from the University of Wisconsin and Howard University. Col. Kuhnke served his country during WW II in the United States Navy where he served upon the USS Murray and the USS Houston which was sunk by the Japanese. He continued to serve his country as a Trail Lawyer with the CIA and upon his retirement served as a Trial Lawyer in private practice.
Ervan relocated to Volusia County in 1995 from Dumfries, Virginia. He was a Green Bay Packers fan as well as a Washington Redskin fan. He also loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting.

Col. Ervin Kuhnke is survived by his children, Karen Ballard and her husband Ted, Linda and her husband Dan, Patricia Worsham and her husband Mike, Ervan Kuhnke III and his wife, Joan, and Laurie Fazli and her husband, Hamed. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Richard, Paul, Sean, Mark, and Freshta, and his great-granddaughter, Sofia.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of forty-eight years, Cecile Kuhnke who passed in 1992 and by his second wife, Glorious who passed in 2014.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday December 3rd at 12:00 am at Lohman Funeral Home; 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach, Florida. The family will receive friends two hours prior to services. Interment with military honors will follow at Daytona Memorial Park.
