Clifford R Josephson 88 of Ormond beach passed away peacefully on July 14, 2014. Clif was born on May 16,1926 in New York, New York. He proudly served his country during World War II in the US Army. After his discharge from the army and with his young family Clif pursued his education graduating from New York University. Over the years he continued with his higher education, while working full-time, obtaining his Doctorate from Cornell University.

He spent his professional and personal life helping others. Clif's professional career took him to many places throughout the country including Alabama, New York, Portland Oregon, Cincinnati Washington State and Florida.

His professional positions included Grade School Teacher, Temple Administrator, Director Jewish Community Center, Director Jewish Federation, and College Professor. Clif was known for his organizational skills and the ability to give a speech on a moments notice.

In his personal life, Clif devoted untold hours and energy to Community Service. He served on the Board of Directors for the United Way and Temple Beth-El as just a sample of his community commitment. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a founding member and original organizer for Family ReNew.

He had a life dream of owning property in the country when he purchased property in upstate New York and named it Manitow. He taught his two young sons how to pump water from the well and to rake the gravel floor of the sleeping cabin every morning.

With his loving wife Judith (Judi) they traveled the world with trips to Russia and climbed the Great Wall of China. Together they took a helicopter trip through Alaska and too many cruises to count. After each trip they would always return to their dream condo with a view of the ocean.

Clif was a modern day warrior. Served in the army, marched for civil rights and spent his life helping those in need. He worked tirelessly towards reaching a better dialogue for inter-faith and inter-race relations. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather and husband. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all.

Clif is predeceased by his sister Arlene. He is survived by his wife Judith Josephson Ormond Beach, his two sons Andrew (Susan) Portland, Oregon and David (Yael) of New Zealand, grandchildren Aaron, Laura and Ari, four stepchildren Hal, Mark, Brian and Jill Kopeikin and six step grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held at Temple Beth-El Sunday, July 20 at 2 PM with Rabbi Barry Altman officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to in Clif's memory to Family Renew, the Education Fund of Temple Beth-El or the American Cancer Society-CAN.
