Obituary

Clifford Blake Dixon, Sr., 91 years old, was born in West Virginia on November 2, 1922 to Blake and Mabel Seaman Dixon. Cliff went on to be with Jesus at 8 A.M. Tuesday July 8, 2014 at his home in Holly Hill, Florida from Complications of COPD, surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joyce Ann (Metcalf-Glauser) Dixon. Surviving also is one brother, Maynard Dixon, of Ohio. He also has four living children, Clifford Dixon, Jr. (Bev) of Pennsylvania, Patricia Aschenbrenner (Jim) of Pennsylvania, Ada Swanson (Dennis) of Florida, Danny Dixon (Sheree) of New York. He is survived by three step-children that he thought of as his own, Thomas Glauser (Barb) of Canada, Richard Glauser (Jeanne) Pennsylvania and Linda Eastman (David) of Pennsylvania. He was the proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Clifford is preceded in death by his mom and dad, Blake and Mabel Dixon, Daughter Ruth Spaulding (Bob), four brothers and four sisters, one grandson Jeffrey Swanson, one great-granddaughter Ally Bliss.
He attended Church of God, 825 Center Avenue, Holly Hill, Florida. He was a mechanic in the coal mines in West Virginia for many years before settling in New York where he was a Foreman for the DOT in Cattaraugus County N.Y. His family was very proud that he served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II as a 1st Division Marine. He landed in Okinawa and helped secure the island. He got to see the flag raised in victory. He felt very blessed to be a missionary and an evangelist. He went on nine mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Every time after showing a salvation film, he played, "Just As I Am." His favorite song was, "Jesus Is The Sweetest Name I Know."

A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday July 11, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona located at 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida 32114. A funeral service will immediately follow at 7:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.
