IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Clayton
Laroche
May 14, 1951 – February 24, 2026
On 2-24-26 Clayton "Clay" LaRoche went to be with our Lord while holding his son and wife's hands. He wrote his own obituary.
If you are reading this then I have passed on to the great beyond. As with all people my life has had its ups and down; regrets and accomplishments. However, my life overall has been very blessed. I am of the small minority of people native to Daytona and grew up in South Daytona. I graduated from Mainland Senior High School in 1969 and from Florida State University (Go 'Noles) in 1973. In my adult life, I worked for FPL for almost 18 years and for the State of Florida's Department of Children and Families (DCF) for 26 years. I had a very fulfilling career with DCF allowing me to help many area children and their families and have a positive impact on our community. I joined my lovely wife, Cindy, in retirement in 2018. We enjoyed playing disc golf a couple times a week and a XBox's Powerstar Golf tournaments everyday to determine the day's "World Champion". I enjoyed meeting old friends for dinner or beer and wings, disc golf, remodeling projects, (after two floods in 2022 and again in 2024) reading a good book, cooking and watching a good movie or FSU game with Cindy. Like my work life, my retirement has been blessed. I am survived by my wife, the light of my life, Cindy LaRoche and our children Colby LaRoche (Clarissa Morency) and Heather Huguenor (Rich), our grand children Avery and Wyatt, my brother Ryan LaRoche (Dana) and my sister Tracy Scott (Dave). I have decided that there will be no memorial service. Instead I ask that when events come up that my family and friends take a moment and hoist their glasses with a toast to me. That way my essence can remain with all those I love for years to come. Farewell until we are reunited in the great hereafter.
