Clarice E. Hood age 94 of Ormond Beach passed away on Friday June 1 2012.

Clarice was born January 5 1918 in Catawba County North Carolina to the late Ada (Leatherman) and Oliver Jarrett.

In 1959 Clarice and her husband Guy moved to Florida with their five children. She worked twenty years for Winn Dixie in Bellair Plaza Daytona Beach. During her time there she worked her way up to management. Clarice was a devoted member of Christ United Methodist Church in Holly Hill where she spent many hours working in the thrift shop and kitchen. Her niece Janice Phillips devoted much time helping Clarice in her church endeavors.

She is preceded in death by her husband Guy R. Hood siblings and granddaughter Jill Ramsey.

Survivors include her children Julia (Tom) Ramsey Ronnie (Nancy) Hood Robert (Rita) Hood Barbara Newton and Terry (Dawn) Hood; eight grandchildren 13 great- grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

Clarice's life will be celebrated by the family at a later date.
