Services will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Lohman's Funeral Home, on Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Stan Puckett will be officiating.
Mrs. Culverhouse was born in Waycross, Georgia on June 5, 1930 and moved to this area from Blackshear, Georgia in 1943. She graduated from Mainland High School in 1950. She began working at the age of 15 at Southern Bell Telephone company as part of the DCT program at Mainland as a telephone operator. She retired from Southern Bell after 35 years. She was a member of Pioneers of America Association, an organization through AT&T that is dedicated to volunteer community service. She was also a member of Flomich Ave. Baptist Church, Holly Hill.
Mrs. Culverhouse married the love of her life, Chuck Culverhouse in 1964. Together they have enjoyed spending summers in their home in Young Harris, Georgia and winters in Holly Hill. Clarice loved feeding the deer and birds, taking walks through the woods around their home and going to concerts at the Georgia Mountain Fair in Hiawassee.
More than anything, Clarice loved people. She loved getting together at family reunions, hosting family and friends in their mountain home, going out to eat, laughing and loving on her many relatives. Her sweet, generous spirit and contagious smile would light up a room. She always thought of others before herself.
Mrs. Culverhouse is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles Edward "Chuck" Culverhouse; son, Charles Edmund Culverhouse, Holly Hill; grandson, Michael Culverhouse, Longwood; brother, Edward Davis (Mary Adele), Blue Ridge, Ga.; sister, Lorene Davis Larson, Holly Hill; sister-in-law, Janie Kelly Davis, St. Augustine and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her brothers, Earl Davis, Julian Davis and her sister, Bernice Davis Canup.
