Funeral services for Brooks Clara B. 90 will be held on Thursday December 27 2007 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona at 2 pm with a viewing for family and friends on Wednesday December 26 from 2-4 pm in the chapel at the funeral home. Mrs. Brooks passed away into the arms of Jesus on Friday December 21 2007 at Florida Memorial (Oceanside) Hospice in Ormond Beach. She was born Clara Byrd Brooks September 16 1917 in Childersburg Alabama. Clara was a devoted wife to the late Clinton G. Brooks for 57 years. They lived in their "Little Piece of Heaven" in Holly Hill for 55 years. She loved her family music children and her church Christ United Methodist in Holly Hill. Clara was a retired school teacher telephone operator and she authored two books of poems titled "Straight from the Heart" and "Come Share My Dreams." She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Ms. Brooks is predeceased by her husband Clinton G. Brooks and survived by her only daughter; Claire Elaine (William H.) Butts and her only granddaughter; April Joy Butts; three grandsons; Robert Richard and Billy Butts and three great-grandchildren. Her granddaughter April was married to Jasin Daniel Quimby on December 21 2007 to honor her grandmother.
