Claire McDonald, 79, of Holly Hill, Florida (formerly of West Fargo, North Dakota), passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2020. She was born on April 17, 1941 in Gardner, N. Dakota to Daro and Neva Thibideau Prichard. Claire was united in marriage to Hal B. McDonald on August 22, 1959 in Sisseton, South Dakota. They lived in Gardner before moving to Fargo in 1960. In 1963 they moved to West Fargo. They lived in several locations, including Seattle, Washington and Phoenix, Arizona before moving back to North Dakota in 1974. Hal and Claire spent many years enjoying their time with several lifetime friends at Star Lake, Claire worked at Sandy's Doughnuts in West Fargo for several years and during this time cherished being part of the Sandy's family. Claire is survived by her son, Daniel (Stacy) McDonald of Holly Hill, FL; her daughter, Tammy (Mike) Kretschmer, of Knoxville, TN; two brothers, Pete (Judy) Prichard of La Mesa, CA, and Bert (April) Prichard of Oceanside, CA; two grandsons Brian McDonald of Winchester, VA and Steven McDonald of Holly Hill, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons, Scott and Russell McDonald, and her great grandson Hayden McDonald. A celebration of life will be held in North Dakota at a later date. In lieu of flowers at this time, please join the family this summer.
