Christos Kontomichalos 60 of Ormond Beach passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at his home on August 6 2012. Born November 3 1951 in Nikaia Greece to Stamatis and Anna Kontomichalos. Christos was a longtime resident of the Ormond Beach area. He previously owned several businesses including restaurants and most recently the business "A Shade Above." Prior to his illness he also worked as a maintenance supervisor at the Towers of Ponce Inlet. He constantly stayed busy and enjoyed working with his hands and was known to be able to fix anything. He had a kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Christos enjoyed traveling home to Greece cooking Greek food gardening repairing and building anything and most of all spending time with all of his friends and family. He was preceded in death by this parents and a brother Panagiotis. He is the beloved husband of Karen Kontomichalos together for 17 years by his children Stephen Christos (Tammi) Dennis (Marsida) Nicole (Michael) by his sisters Paraskevi (Vassili) Argero (Ilias) blessed by two grandchildren Gracie and Cole many additional family members in Greece and his cat Pocahonna. His family will receive friends between the hours of 5-8 on Friday August 10th at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd Ormond Beach. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 11th at 11:00 at St. Demetrio's Greek Orthodox Church 129 Halifax Ave Daytona Beach.
