Chris Porter was born on May 23, 1960 in Daytona Beach and loved the beach all his life.    After living in Orange Park, Jacksonville and Lake City, he moved back to the beach almost 20 years ago.  He lived right on the beach and loved waking up in the morning to the sunrise over the ocean.  He missed the sunrise last Tuesday morning when the Lord called him home so unexpectedly.    Chris was known for his tender heart, his sweet smile and his love of family.   He gave a portion of his heart to everyone he loved.

He is survived by his parents Bill and Barbara Porter of Lake City, his life partner of 25 years Neal Dobson of Daytona Beach, daughter and son-in-law Lauren and Aaron Jenkins and beloved grandchildren Kasen and Pearl Jenkins of Lake City.  He is also survived by his sister Tammy (Earl) Burghart of Vilano Beach and brothers Jody (Terri) Porter of Riverview, Rusty (Kim) Porter and Andrew (Elizabeth) Porter of Lake City.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved going to the beach to visit their Uncle Chris.
