Christopher Roberts Coxe of Port Orange FL died Friday December 31 2010. He was 75. Born March 31 1935 in Stamford CT to the late Campbell Roberts Coxe and Urling (Valentine) Coxe Chris was a true "people person." He made friends for life where ever he went starting at St. Luke's School in New Canaan CT; in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for four years; and at various positions he held whether it was as a scientific instruments salesman in Norwalk CT; owner of the Brightside Market in Boothbay ME; ad salesman for the Brunswick (Maine) Times-Record (where he retired in 2002); or most recently at the Daytona (Florida) Auto Auction. Throughout his life Chris was an avid sailor both of full-size boats and model yachts. He was a proud member and Past Commodore of the South Daytona Model Yacht Club and the day before he died spent the entire day with his sailing buddies. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his children Karen C.L. Anderson and her husband Timothy Anderson of New London CT; Holly Coxe Brittingham and her husband Joshua Brittingham of Pawtucket RI; and Christopher R. Coxe Jr. and his wife Kelly Coxe of Matthews NC. He is also survived by Barbara's son Paul Ellis of Middleboro MA and nine grandchildren Jeremey Anderson of Warwick RI; Bryan Anderson of Greenville SC; Jessica Carlson and her husband Sam Carlson of Groton CT; Madison Brittingham of Pawtucket RI; Macy Brittingham of Pawtucket RI; Campbell Coxe of Matthews NC; and Samantha Coxe of Matthews NC; Rachel Devine of Middleboro MA; and Jason Ellis of Middleboro MA. He is also survived by a sister Mary Mallory of Lebanon NH; one nephew and three nieces. He is also survived by two former spouses Cynthia Griffin of Searsport ME and Elizabeth Elder of Owings Mills MD. Chris' generosity in life continued upon his death. According to his wishes he left his body to science and medicine to benefit the quality of life of others. His continuing contributions to society will have a positive impact on at least 482 people either directly or indirectly.
