IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christine
Zimmerman
February 15, 1950 – February 8, 2025
Christine Margaret (Colvell) Zimmerman, age 74, of Manchester, CT and Ormond Beach FL, peacefully entered into eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Advent Hospital, Daytona Beach, FL. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert H. Zimmerman. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 15, 1950, and raised in Hicksville, Long Island, the daughter of the late Ephraim and Margaret (Noone) Colvell. She spent many years as a stay at home mom raising her four children and then returned to work through the Manchester Board of Education at Manchester High School. Over the years, Christine was fortunate enough to run into numerous students who regularly told her the impact she had on their lives during her time at Manchester High. In addition to her husband, Christine is survived by her children and grandchildren - Christy Zimmerman and her fiance Willie Rivera; Carrie Wilhelm and her children Riley and Broden; Robert Zimmerman II and daughter in law Jennifer, and their daughter Sophia and Brian Zimmerman and daughter in law Melissa, and his children Kaleb, Brianna, Ethan and Aiden as well as her sister Peggy Colvell and her brother Robert Colvell and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Patricia Wagna and Kathleen Kalogeras and her brothers Edward and Thomas Colvell.
Christine was happiest when hosting celebrations at the family home in Manchester. Whether it was a holiday celebration or a summer BBQ in the backyard on Grissom Rd, Chris loved being surrounded by family and friends enjoying one another's company. Anyone who came over quickly became family. Together with the love of her life, Chris provided a loving home for her children and grandchildren that we are forever grateful for. We will always remember the Christmas light extravaganza they would create every year for the grandchildren that the whole community would enjoy. Chris cherished the time she and Bob spent in Florida and the memories they created there.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date. The family is grateful for the outpouring of love and support. Chris will be forever loved and remembered.
The care of Christine Zimmerman is under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32174, 386-673-1100.
