Christine L. Torrison Raffini 73 of Ormond Beach passed away on Wednesday June 16 2010. A Celebration of life will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd Ormond Beach on Wednesday June 23 2010 beginning 3:00 pm.
The family will start receiving guest at 2:00pm.
Christine was born July 26 1936 to Torris and Ruth (Karste) Torrison in Sheboygan Wisconsin. She enjoyed reading classical music writing and poetry. She was also very interested in politics and wildlife conservation. Christine received her Master's degree from the University of Miami and a PHD in French Literature from Penn State. She spoke four languages fluently and wrote seven university related books.
Christine and her husband Franco loved to travel and lived in 33 different places including Italy for 6 years France for 5 years Pennsylvania for 6 years Richmond Miami Texas Mexico Costa Rica New York Wisconsin and many more.
Some of her fondest memories are of Christmas in Wisconsin Kemper Hall University of Wisconsin Perugia Italy living in France studying hard and being a professor at the University of Miami.
In her life she was most proud of her son Alexander and husband Franco and all the adventures they shared. She was also very proud of receiving her PHD.
Christine was a member of the MGNSA Foreign Language National Honor Society and an Alumni of Phi Kappa Phi.
Christine is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years Franco Raffini of Ormond Beach son Alexander (Susan) Raffini of Spokane Washington grandchildren Tony and Francesca Raffini of Spokane Washington sister Lucia (Mario) of Dowers Grove Illinois and her cat Titti.
