Christine Samaras age 70 of Port Orange passed away quietly in her home on Tuesday July 29 2008. St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 134 N. Halifax Dr. Daytona Beach Florida will hold a visitation on Thursday July 31 2008 4:30-6:30 PM a service will follow till 7:00 and a funeral service Friday August 1 2008 10:00 AM. Mrs. Samaras touched many different lives in many different ways but her open home policy and joyful spirit all got its start back in her early days in Montreal Canada. After meeting Capt. Michael Samaras in New York they were married in 1965 in Canada. They spent several of the following years at sea and came to settle in Daytona Beach. She was an active member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and dedicated much of her talent to the Daughters of Penelope Hellenic Cretan Society and several other organizations. She was an avid traveler and extremely athletic throughout her life and opened the doors of her home to many. Wherever you went in the world someone knew Christina. She will be greatly missed. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 43 years Captain Michael Samaras and three children; Alex (Julie) Samaras John Samaras and Vicki (Mark) Samaras Roberts 4 grandchildren a bother; Nick Apostolos a sister Mary Beaudoin and lots of family friends and people that loved her.
