Chester M. Rowling 68 a long-time resident of Daytona Beach passed away peacefully in his home on March 4 2009 after a long illness. A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 7th at 11:00 AM at Hope Fellowship Church 869 Derbyshire Rd Daytona Beach He was born in Sandersville Georgia on May 6 1940 to Willie Rolling and Carrie Gundy. Chester retired from the Daytona Beach Housing Authority after many years of service; and also worked at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University/ Sodexho for several years. He worked very hard to provide for his family and amused everyone with his big heart. He humored all friends and family with his "Geechy" accent and would sometimes joke and laugh about the fact that he needed an interpreter. In his spare time you could find him watching NASCAR racing pro-football and Old Western movies. His favorite team was the Indianapolis Colts. He had a sincere deep love for his family and will be missed dearly. Chester is survived by his wife of 17 years Joan Rowling; daughter Michelle-Rowling (Christopher) Green of Daytona Beach; step-sons Lee Graham of Daytona and Casey (Josie) Gray of Portland Oregon; brother George Sr.(Mary) Rolling of Sandersville Georgia; sisters Ernestine McGill of New Smyrna Beach and Mary Hodges of Miami; grandchildren CJ Michella Angelo Malik Alicia Skyla and Amaya. He was pre-deceased by a brother Willard Rolling and a brother in law Robert McGill.
