Cheryl Jean Smallwood Mitchell, age 74, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Services will be held at The Point Community Church on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Sean Post and Pastor Andy Lawrence officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. service time on Friday. Committal services will be held in Florida.
Cheryl was born in Brunswick, Georgia on June 15, 1947, to the late Maxwell Smallwood and Jean Coffer Smallwood. Lovingly called "Snow White" by her family, she had an avid love for caring for animals. She enjoyed traveling, especially to St. Simons Island and Gatlinburg. Cheryl will be remembered for her loving heart and diligent work ethic.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, John Mitchell; daughters, Heather Post (Sean), Amy Stitts (Eric), and Tiffany Meadows (Michael); grandchildren, Brittany Loder (Charles), Ashley Skelton (Justin), John Robert Stitts, Emily Grace Stitts, Mary Beth Stitts, Matthew Stitts, Michaela Meadows, and Analiese Meadows. She was also blessed with several half-siblings, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Maxie Smallwood and by several half-siblings.
Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.
