Obituary

Cheryl Ann McGurren Smith, 68, of Ormond Beach, was called to be with our Lord God in the Kingdom of H eaven while she rest ed quietly asleep the morning of Saturday January 29th.

Cheryl , born on November 18 , 19 53 in Chelsea , MA, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. Her f ondest memories as a child were the days spent with her beloved Nanna and Papa Hayes who she held near and dear to her heart for all her life . Passing stories and recipes along from the days they spent together baking and enjoying each other's company. An experience she shared and passed along with her Grandchildren teaching them how to cook and bake especially for her favorite Holiday Thanksgiving Day.

Cheryl was a graduate from Seabreeze High , who years later while married , raising two children and working full time, commuted nights to attend classes at UCF in Orlando . A fter eight long years , Cheryl completed her mission and graduate d with high remarks receiving a bachelor's degree of a c c ounting and the respect and admiration of all her professors who enjoyed her passion and determination in the classroom .

Cheryl loved A ccounting and Human Resources , a field in which she excelled with her superb work ethic, organiz ational skills and enjoy ment of problem-solving . She enjoyed the sense of accomplishment she received by keeping meticulous records and having it all be in balance. This led to a Forty-year career in her beloved field of expertise , Accounting & HR Management.

Cheryl was a devout Christian who loved our Lord God with a passionate faith . She was fiercely protective and always dedicated to helping f amily, friends and colleagues whenever they were in need . A lways pu t t ing others needs above her own, ensuring they were taken care of anytime the need arose. It was in her good nature to be there for you whenever needed. Others always came first with Cheryl, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill and she will be missed by all those who knew her in life . We miss you more than words could ever describe and our love for you is endless. Rest in Peace Mom.

Cheryl was predeceased by her brother Timmy and survived by her s on Ryan, d aughter in-law Kirsten, g randchildren Ayden, Jude and Kailee. Her s ister Donna, b rother in-law Mark , n iece Jenna, n ephew Shane , g randnephew Duncan , Pat, Jim , Ron and countless others whose lives she touched and even helped shape .

Family will receive friends at Lohman Funeral Home s , 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach FL 32174, on Saturday, February 12 th at 10:00 AM.
