Cheryl L. Hoeck
March 7, 1950 – January 17, 2021
Cheryl L. (Hall) Hoeck, 70, of South Daytona, Florida passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Daytona Beach on Sunday, January 17, 2021 surrounded by her loving children and childhood friend, Jessie Schoonmaker. Born March 7, 1950 to Dorothy and William Hall, Cheryl grew up on Blue Hill Farm in Monterey, Massachusetts where she learned to love horses at a very young age and would spend many nights and weekends riding. She attended New Marlborough Elementary School and graduated from Mt. Everett High School in l968. Cheryl was Captain of her high school cheerleading squad and a talented gymnast. Following graduation Cheryl moved to Daytona Beach where she was awarded a full scholarship for cheerleading to Daytona Beach Community College, now known as Daytona State College.
Settling in Daytona, Cheryl met her husband Chip and started a family with her first love, Tonia. Ten years later her second love arrived, George (Jordie) and almost two and half years after that her heart was once again full of love from the birth of her third child, Amanda (Mandi). Cheryl was an independent woman with a heart of gold. She worked two to three jobs to ensure her kids were taken care of when they were young and able to participate in various athletics, Tonia with horseback riding and gymnastics, Jordie with football and baseball, and Mandi with dance. Cheryl always made her children a priority and as a result she raised loving and kind children who blessed her with six beautiful, smart, and talented grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Cheryl knew how blessed she was to be surrounded by her loved ones and lived every moment for her children and her grandchildren. She was known as a "second mom" to many of her children's friends. A great listener, she was easy to talk to, and chose to empower instead of judge. Cheryl's friendships were just as important to her as her beloved family. She considered most of her friends, family and loved every moment spent with them, even if it was just an hour on the phone. We are blessed to have had her in our lives.
Cheryl was always smiling, laughing, and sometimes crying tears of joy; overwhelmed with happiness. No matter where she was, in line at a grocery store, at an appointment, a game or meet, she would always make friends. She loved to watch "NCIS", "Criminal Minds" and "Law & Order SVU" and to play games on her phone. Cheryl could never say no to any sweet treats, but some of her favorites were milk duds, rolos, butterfingers, snickers, pecan pie, tapioca pudding…just to name a few. She hated to cook, so she especially loved any food she didn't have to prepare herself. Her greatest joy came from relaxing at home spending quality time with her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her beloved brother-in-law Richard T. Hulett.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her three beautiful children, Tonia (Roman) Yurkiewicz, George M. (Shawna) Hoeck IV and Amanda Hoeck (Jeremy Richard); her sister Joan Hulett, brother William D. (Paula) Hall and brother Rickard (Fabiola) Hall, six amazing grandchildren Christopher, Zosia, Jayla, Jayce, Shae and Alynah; several loved nieces, nephews and cousins and special friends, Patti Cantrell and Ruthann.
