Charlotte Ann Gabbard, 77, Of Port Orange, Florida passed away at 10:22 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at Shands University of Florida Hospital in Jacksonville.
Born May 13, 1938 in Bloomfield, Indiana, she was the daughter of Roy and Lucy (Defrees) Abrams. She was a retired realtor in Jackson County, Indiana. She was a member of Beville Road Church of Christ in Daytona Beach, Florida. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens and playing golf with friends. The loves of her life were her work, church, and family.
Surviving relatives include: her children, Charlotte Darlene (Mikel) Smith of Vincennes, Indiana; Kenneth (Kathy) Holtsclaw of Bloomfield, Indiana; Lisa (Doug) Wingfield of Davisville, West Virginia; Kenneth Gabbard of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Elizabeth Colburn of Indianapolis, Indiana; siblings, Beverly Kennedy and Linda Meadows both of Bedford, Indiana; Mike and Jim Abrams of Bloomfield, Indiana; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Max Pirtle (1975) and James Gabbard (2009); and sister, Mary Sparks.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on April 26, 2016 at Lohman Funeral Home in Port Orange, Florida with Rev. Bruce Daugherty officiating. Public visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. prior to service on Tuesday. She will then be taken to Jenkins Lester Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Indiana for viewing on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Public visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a service at 12 p.m. with Michael Abrams officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana.
