Obituary

Charlotte S. Atkins, 90, of Port Orange, Florida passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 28, 2014.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Ave., Daytona Beach, FL, 32114. Interment will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park.
Charlotte was born on September 4, 1923 in Stauton, Virginia but lived most of her life here in Daytona Beach. She retired from the local Tax Collectors office where she worked for many years. Charlotte was a devoted member of First Baptist Church for 75 years. She was a past member of the Palmetto Club where she enjoyed playing bridge with friends. Charlotte loved being with her family and friends and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Richard L. Atkins Sr., daughter, Linda J. Christensen, son, Richard L. Atkins Jr, and his wife Kathy. Survivors include her grandchildren, Paula D. Belanger, Kevin (Karri) Belanger, Richard L. (Stacy) Atkins III, James (Dawn) Atkins, Robert (Melanie) Atkins, Michael Atkins, Kathleen Sullivan, Joe Atkins, and Kristen C.(Jim) Champion. She also leaves behind ten great grandchildren, caregiver and dear friend Sharon McBride, and son-in-law Richard Christensen.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First Baptist Church, 118 North Palmetto Ave., Daytona Beach, Florida 32118. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Condolences for the family may be shared through this online guestbook.
