Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Zahn , 80, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Halifax Health Hospice Ormond Beach Care Center, Ormond Beach, Florida.

Chuck was born on January 21, 1941 in Watertown, Wisconsin to Harold and Louise (Haney) Zahn. He proudly served for 30 years in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, earning the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer. Chuck earned his Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management from the Medical University of South Carolina.

Chuck was an avid golfer who enjoyed reading, going to the movies, spending time with his family, and spending time with his little dog Sally. He was also a huge Green Bay Packer fan, a true cheese head through & through.

Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Deborah "Deb" (Harsch) Zahn of Ormond Beach, his daughter Sharon Downs (husband Stephen) of Springfield, Virginia, his son Steven Zahn of Orlando, Florida, his step-daughter Carrie Algeo (husband Josh) of Johns Island, South Carolina, his step-daughter Michelle Thornley (husband Kevin) of Charleston, South Carolina, his sister Mary Oyler (husband Jerry) of Longwood, Florida and his brother Steven Zahn of Hollywood, Florida. Chuck is also survived by 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated on May 6th at 4:00 p.m. at Lohman Funeral Home: 733 West Granada Blvd, Ormond Beach, Florida. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Chuck's memory to Halifax Health Hospice. Arrangements are under the care of Lohman Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, Florida. Condolences and memories are welcome to be shared with the family via this online guestbook.
