Obituary

Charles "Chuck" Wood 55, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on January 13, 2014 at Kindred Hospital, Green Cove Springs Florida. A Celebration of Chuck's life will be held on February 22, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Amvets Post 113 in Palm Coast, Florida. Chuck was born in Sanford, Florida. He was raised in Central Florida graduating from Crescent City High School. Chuck proudly served in the United States Navy as an Aviation Machinist's Mate. After his Honorable discharged he moved to New Mexico where he met the love of his life Merry Wackerle. Chuck was the owner of Woods Construction Co. New Mexico and enjoyed many years working as a carpenter and contractor. After Chuck and Merry married they moved back to Oviedo, Florida then to Palm Coast.He was the First vice of Amvets Post 113, treasurer of Amvets Riders Post 113, then State President of the Department of Florida Amvet Riders. Chuck was an amazing father, husband and friend. Chuck had a love for motorcycles that was unwavering. His smile was big, his laugh was grand but his love was true. He is going to be missed by many but remembered by all.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Patricia and his brother Steven. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Merry Wood of Palm Coast, Daughters Marsha Lindsey of Missouri, Meredith Chenoweth of Missouri, Son Casey Wood of Palm Coast, Brothers Kenneth Wood (Julie) of Florida, Jeffry Wood of Florida, Sisters Melanie Chambers (Charles) of Florida and Susan Riegler of Florida. Chuck was also the loving grandfather to his two grandchildren Kyle and David. Donations in Chuck's name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans 208 S. 6th St. Flagler Beach, FL 32136. All arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast. Condolences may be shared with the family through this online guest book.
