Funeral Services for Charles E. Sylvester 96 of Ormond Beach who passed away at his residence on Thursday January 13 2011 will be held on Wednesday January 19 2011 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond at 7:00pm. His Family will receive friends from 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home on Wednesday prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date in Clear Creek Cemetery in Bloomington Indiana.
Charles E. Sylvester was born on May 16 1914 in Bloomington Indiana to the late Raymond and Mary Ella (Harding) Sylvester.
Survivors include his daughter Darla K. Combs of Deltona FL; Two Sons Philip of Alamogordo New Mexico and Mark of Tucson Arizona; Four Grandchildren Brenda Debra Gregory and Caitlin; and Five Great-Grandchildren Ryan Brittany Nicholas Erin and Lauren.
He was predeceased in 1986 by his wife Mary Elizabeth of 53 years whom he married on January 27 1933.
Charles was known by most as a greeter at Walmart in Ormond Beach for over 17 years. He loved to travel go on cruises hunt and was an all around avid sportsman.
