Charles Michael Renuart left this world on July 10, 2026. He was born in Miami to Firmin and Adrienne Renuart on May 27, 1940. They instilled in Mike a lifelong love of God, country and family. After graduating from Coral Gables High School, he immediately joined the United States Navy. Upon completion of his duty, he returned to south Florida, continued his education and landed a job at the new IBM facility in Boca Raton.

He began his new career in the lab and through many exciting twists and turns ended it as a project director thirty years later. Those twists and turns brought wonderful opportunities for adventure, travel and professional success. Mike was offered overseas assignments in southern France, Hong Kong and Thailand. He and Cathy said yes without hesitation. The two vagabonds often repeated stories of their many triumphs and misadventures. “Remember that time….”

Abroad or at home, Mike pursued his passions on and in the water. A competitive water skier, Mike also enjoyed sailing, boating, scuba diving, snorkeling, and spear fishing. Many happy times were spent on the boat off Sugarloaf Key. After his retirement they relocated to Spruce Creek Fly-In and Mike pursued his other favorite pastime-aviation. He flew with fellow enthusiasts and when they weren’t flying, they were talking about flying! Mike found time to volunteer with Hope Place Shelter, Pilots ‘n Paws dog rescue and his favorite, the local United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla Air Unit. Mike relished flying with the crew, looking for buoys, vessels, debris, right whales or whatever else the Coast Guard deemed important.

Mike lived a happy, fun, and meaningful life for eighty-six years, yet to those who love him, his departure comes entirely too soon. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald, and his daughter Theresa Paulino. Left to mourn are his wife Catherine Renuart, nee Ruschmeier, his daughters Christine Renuart and Veronica Bullock (Mike) and his son Michael Renuart (Michelle). He leaves behind six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. His sister Claudette Voehringer and his brother Robert (Diane) will miss him greatly, as will his nieces and nephews. His neighbors will miss laughing as he rides his bike with his beloved dog, Mojito, on a leash beside him, both thinking they were the leader.

On one of his last days Mike’s son asked him “Dad, is there anything else you wish you had done?” and Mike replied, “Absolutely nothing, I’ve done it all.”

We will honor this great man’s life on July 30, 2026, at an 8:30 Mass at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, followed by a reception in the social hall. Mike’s ashes will be buried at the Cape Canaveral Military Cemetery at 1pm.
