Charles L. Many 93 of Daytona Beach Shores and formerly of Elmira NY passed away August 20 2009. He was born January 20 1916 to Pierre and Mary Radiker- Many in Livingston Manor NY. He worked in the Graphic Arts Department for Thatcher Glass Manufacturing Company in Elmira NY for 45 years and retired on June 30 1980. In 1991 he and his late wife Helen relocated to Daytona Beach Shores where he spent much of his free time on the golf course. He can be credited for 2 "holes-in-one" over his lifetime. Charles was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves baseball team. He also followed the careers of PGA golfer Joey Sindelar and NBA star Vince Carter. While in Elmira he was an avid bowler and was a member of the 700 club and had a 300 game to his credit. He was a life member of Elks Lodge #1557 of New Smyrna Beach FL and a life member of F & A.M. Elmira Lodge #0095. A celebration of life will be held Saturday September 5 2009 at 2:00pm at United Presbyterian Church 730 Beville Road Daytona Beach. Pastor Robert J. Anderson will be officiating. Left to cherish his memory are his Son Edward (Jean) Many of Roswell GA; Daughters Lois (Paul) Sangalli of Port Orange FL Janice (Gary) Bennett of Elmira NY; Sisters-in-law Barbara Dove of Elmira NY Betty Cook of Horseheads NY; Grandchildren Christopher and Kimberly Many Kristen Esch and Alison Porcelli four Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife Helen of 72 years on March 27 2009; Brother Millard Many and Sisters Virginia Valerius and Frances Robertson.
