Charles Jerry Smith, 74, went home to Jesus on October 13, 2013. He was born August 30, 1939 in Yolyn, West Virginia, then moving to Baltimore. Md. with his mother and sister in 1942. After graduating from Kenwood High School, Charles began working for the USPS. He met his future wife, Pauletta Ann Scott, who lived across the street from his family in Essex Md.

In January 1963, they were married and began their family, being blessed with two daughters. Andrea in 1964 and Jennifer in1966. Always in pursuit of bettering himself, Charles graduated from the University of Baltimore in 1969 with a BA degree.

After over 30 years as an Industrial Engineer at Bethlehem Steel, Charles fulfilled his life long dream of retiring to Florida in 1995, moving from Perry Hall Md to Ormond- By- the Sea. Loving the game of golf, he became active in the Tomoka Oaks Golf Club and later at the Riviera Country Club, being very proud of his low handicap.
