Charles Lynn Holloway, 87, of Daytona Beach and Cocoa, FL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, November 27, 2021.  Mr. Holloway was born in Huntington, West Virginia on January 18, 1934.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Campbell Holloway, and Olive Tessie Harper, to whom he was a devoted and loving son, providing and caring for them until their deaths in 1980.  He is also preceded in death by his two sisters Elizabeth Sheppard (2009) and Mary Jane Mann (2017).  The family moved to DeLand, FL when Charles (also affectionately known as Charlie) was a teenager.  He attended DeLand High School and graduated in 1952 with "The Crew of '52" as they were called.  He was very active in high school and was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" by his senior class.  Succeed he did.  Charlie attended the University of Florida and was a proud Gator, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  He was employed with Martin Marietta (Cape Canaveral) for most of his engineering career where he worked on the Gemini / Titan Manned Space Program, as well as the unmanned Titan launches.  The space launch vehicle contributed to the majority of 368 Titan launches, including all of the Project Gemini crewed flights of the mid-1960s.  Charles retired after 30+ years of devoted service to Martin Marietta.  He is survived by two nieces, two nephews, great nieces/nephews, and devoted friends in Cocoa and Daytona.  Funeral services will he held Tuesday, December 07, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, followed by a graveside service where Charles will be interred next to his parents.  Charlie had a genuine soft spot in his heart for animals.  In lieu of flowers, we believe he would have liked the sentiment of donating to the Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach.
