Charles B. Hill passed away Monday September 2 2013 at the age of 81. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange on Wednesday September 11th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. A Prayer Service will immediately follow the visitation at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Church of the Epiphany on Thursday September 12th at 10:00 am.
Charles was born in Brooklyn New York on August 22 1932. Growing up Charles was a Boy Scout and continued on as a Troop Leader later. After graduating high school he served his country in the United States Air Force. In 1953 Charles married the love of his life Sheila Tighe. Over the next 30 years Charles welcomed with Sheila four children and a career as a Supervisor in the airline industry. Charles and Sheila moved to Port Orange Florida in 1983. He helped to found the Port Orange Elks Lodge 2723 and was an active member. Charles had many interests throughout his life; gardening NASCAR trains aircraft and most importantly his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those left to cherish their memories of Charles are his wife of 60 years Sheila; son Cambridge P. Hill (Diana); daughters Regina Mason (Bruce) Claudia Indelicato (Pat); grandchildren Jessica Brad Nora Charlie Christopher Neil and Alyssa; great grandchildren Jackson and Gabriella. Charles was predeceased by his son Charles D. Hill. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made in the name of Charles B. Hill to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange.
