Charles Oren Girton passed away peacefully on October 16, 2023 in Orange City, Florida at 67 years old. Born in the old Eau Gallie hospital in Eau Gallie, Florida on May 23, 1956, he was the son of Charles E. Girton and Judith P. Girton.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time in nature. He could always be found with a fishing pole and a cast net by his side; he fished nearly every river, lake, and stream in Brevard County, and had a story for each one.

In his life he worked many jobs with a primary focus on carpentry and construction. He also spent many of his working days on the water, be it building docks and seawalls or doing his true passion and fishing commercially.

He grew up and spent a majority of his life attending schools in Eau Gallie, Florida, but spent the last year of his life surrounded by nature in rural north Lake County with his daughter, Laura. He attended the Tabernacle Church in Melbourne, Florida.

He is survived by his mother, Judith Girton; sister, Crystal Girton; daughters, Angie, Joanne, Mary, and Laura; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

His family is hosting a celebration of life that any and all who knew and loved him are welcome to attend. It will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 12pm-4pm at the Crane Community Center located at 1440 Mosswood Dr, Melbourne, FL 32935.
