Memorial Services for Charles Edwin Spencer 87 of Edgewater who went home to be with our Lord on January 10 2007 will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday January 13 2007 at Christ Community Church 1210 Mission Drive New Smyrna Beach with Pastor Larry Husebo officiating. Charles was born on September 24th 1919 to the late Henry and Maude Spencer in Richwood West Virginia. He was a WWII veteran who served in the 287 Combat Engineers Division 3rd Army. After returning from service to our country Charles worked in the coal mining industry for several years before relocating to Braceville Ohio area where he lived and worked at Rockwell International in Newton Falls until retiring to Edgewater Florida in 1976. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and V.F.W. for many years and he thoroughly enjoyed golfing bowling and fishing. Charles leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 43 years Eileen; son William (Bernice) Spencer of Champion OH; daughters Eileen (William) Cunningham of Knoxville TN and Charlene (David) Ludwig of Edgewater FL; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He will be joining his daughter who preceded him in death Shelva Jean Spencer who is with our Lord and Savior.
