Deland - Charles Allen Cropper, 93, passed away December 14, 2016, with his loving family by his side. A memorial service in his honor will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 306 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Deland. The family will receive guests following the memorial service.
Charles was born in Lexington, Ky., to Clifton W. Cropper and Edna M. Bradford on November 25, 1923.
Charles loved and had a passion for family, friends and life. He enjoyed church, flying and playing basketball. He was a retired internal auditor for Southern Bell Company. He graduated from the University of Kentucky. Served in the U.S. Navy as a pilot during WWII. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a number of civic organizations. Surviving him are one son, James Cropper of Atlanta, and three grandchildren, Catherine Cropper, Cole Cropper of Atlanta, and Christy Sellers of Jacksonville.
