Charles W. Close Jr. (Chuck), 79, of Ormond Beach, FL, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, with his family by his side at Halifax Hospice Care Center in Orange City, FL.

Survived by his soulmate and wife, Cynthia G. Close (Cindy); his daughter, Darby Chynoweth (Jason); his son, Chad Close; his grandchildren, Trinity, and Gus; and his three sisters, Cheryl, Charlotte, and Carolyn.

Preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. Close and Inez (Hughes) Close, and his brother, Chris.

Chuck loved traveling and fishing with his wife, Cindy, and tending to their vegetable garden.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for four years during the Vietnam War, earning two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was deeply proud to be a Marine veteran.

Chuck will be missed and forever remembered by his family and the many friends he made throughout his life.
