Mr. Charles Lewis Cain went to be with Jesus September 3rd 2012 at 90 yrs of age. He was born on September 30th 1921 in Akron Ohio to the late Marion and Charles Cain Sr. After graduating from East High School he served in the Army Air Forces as First Sergeant at the Flexible Gunnery School located at Tyndall Field Florida. He was responsible for the training of the B-17 Gunners destined for the European daylight bombing raids.
After discharge he returned to Tallmadge Ohio and worked for Goodyear Tire & Rubber for 43 Yrs. He and his wife wintered in Holiday Fl. For 29 yrs and made their permanent home in Pickwick Village Port Orange Fl. in 2009.
Charles was preceded in death by his brothers Hardin Jerry and Billy; sister Nancy sister-in-law Maxine Cain; Mary Jane Hider; brother-in-law Richard Boehm; George Critchfield and niece Patricia Boehm .
He is survived by his wife Anna May son Ronald (Carole)of Ormond Beach Fl. three grand children six great grand children one great great grandchild. Siblings Richard and Phillip (Nilene) Martha and Anna Marion all living in Northern Ohio. A sister-in-law Betty of Colorado and Shirley Critchfield of Ocala Fl. and brother-in-law Howard Schertzinger of Tallmadge. He had 29 nieces and nephews and many many greate nieces and nephews. A full life and a loving family truly and blessed man and a blessing to us all.
A Memorial Service with military honors will be held on Saturday September 15th at 4:30 PM. in the Chapel at the Lohman Funeral Home 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange. The family will receive guests from 4:00 until the time of service at 4:30. All friends and flowers are welcome. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange.
