Catherine M. Smythe of Victoria Gardens Blvd. died September 25 2004 at home.Catherine was born in Jewett NY to Edward and Susie Morse. She completed Teacher''''s Training at the State School of Agriculture at Delhi NY in June 1927 and received her Teaching Diploma from the University of the State of New York in June of Windham Public School System. She was an active member of the Jewett Grance Pamona and National Grange as well as the Local 4-H as a club leader.Catherine and Leonard Smythe married in 1956 and enjoyed many trips by sea and by air to his native England before their retirement to Daytona Beach in the early 1970''''s.She was a member of the Jewett Presbyterian Church while living in New York State and later The First Methodist Church of Daytona Beach from 1985 until its closure and served as a faithful supporter and volunteer for Halifax Urban Ministries. She enjoyed golfing and was a devoted Atlanta Braves and Miami Dolphins fan.Catherine was predeceased by her loving husband Leonard brothers Newell Kenneth and Walter Morse and sister Evelyn Christian. She is survived by Step-daughter Dorothy Becker of Dix Hills NY niece Barbara Pountain Port Orange who lovingly provided for her care and welfare and several other nieces nephews step-grandchildren step-great-grandchildren step-great-great-grandchildren great-nieces and great-nephews.Memorial donations to: Jewett Presbyterian Church 53 Church St. Jewett NY 12444 or Halifax Urban Ministries 215 Bay St. Daytona Beach FL 32114.
