CATHERINE SCHERER (nee Bettinger) 91 of Daytona Beach died peacefully in her home amongst family Friday Jan 21st. Mass will be celebrated Thursday January 27th at 10:00 am at the Basilica of St. Paul where she was a long time parishioner. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial (Cedar Hills) Cemetery.

She was the beloved wife of 43 years of the late Paul P. Scherer and devoted mother of Paul C. (Cindy Petelle) of St. Petersburg; Marie Belote (Loyd Glasgow) of Snead Island; John C. of Palm Coast; and the late Peter M. Scherer.

Mrs. Scherer was born in Johnstown New York where she graduated from Johnstown High School with a degree in business. In 1947 she moved here with her husband and young son. She was a scout leader and sewed many of the clothes for her family. In addition to her children she is survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Basilica of St. Paul.
