A Mass of Christian Burial for Catherine A. "Kay" McCarthy 84 of Ormond Beach will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Brendan Catholic Church with Rev. James T. Queen as Celebrant. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell FL. The family is inviting friends for visitation on Wednesday at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Kay died Saturday December 15 2007 at Florida Hospital Ormond. Surviving her are her husband Joe four sons Michael Ormond Beach Joseph Jacksonville Timothy Concord NC Peter Jacksonville 3 daughters Patricia Blatt Macungie PA Kathleen Skryanz NY Teri McCarthy Ormond Beach five grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She married her husband of 62 years Joe January 13 1945. She was born June 16 1923 in Yonkers NY. The couple came to Ormond Beach in 1986. Catherine was known as the Rosary Lady at St. Brendan Catholic Church where she and several volunteers made Rosaries for the Oblate missions. She was very involved with her family chauffeuring the girls to their swimming lessons and the boys to little league baseball.
