Catherine (Kay) Fox left her loved ones on earth to be with those who loved her in Heaven on Thursday June 10th 2010. Kay was born on Sept. 19 1910 in Cicero IL to G.C. and LaVerge Burch. After completing high school she attended the Chicago School of Art and worked as a commercial artist in Chicago and Grand Rapids Michigan. During World War II she worked in a gun factory in Grand Rapids assembling guns for the war effort. Kay married J.I. Foster in 1934 and moved to Baldwin Michigan to help run the family business; The Big Star Lake Lodge where Kay was known for her wonderful ""Sunday"" dinners and homemade Lemon Meringue pie. In 1958 Kay moved to Florida where she met and married her 2nd husband Kel Fox-together they enjoyed fishing and entertaining their many friends. She was predeceased by Kel in 1987 and moved to Port Orange to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Kay loved to read mysteries and did so without the aid of glasses. She continued her love of art through her annual handmade Christmas ornaments shared with family and friends. She loved her family and was always there to listen and offer advice if asked. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Nancy Schreiber; her son J.I. Foster III (Sharon); her stepson E.K. Fox Jr. (Ann); and many grand great-grand and great-great-grandchildren. She had a special love for her grandson Trey who was close to her from birth and inherited her art skills. Services will be at Cardwell Funeral Home on Monday June 21st at 3:00pm with Rev. Jim Messer officiating.
